The phone call
An ordinary telephone is positioned on the wall. It can easily be taken for a service telephone and not having any direct relation to an art context. From time to time it rings, offering two alternatives to the visitor and passer-by: either leave it ringing, presuming that somebody in charge will soon pick up the phone, or answer the call himself. By picking up the earpiece, the visitor will hear a mechanical voice asking him or her to hold the line: in other words, this person will be put on hold.
